Welcome to our Club!
Welcome from our Club President
Welcome to Arlington North West Rotary
The Friendliest Club in Town
That's what you'll hear at the beginning of our weekly Rotary meetings.
Arlington North West Rotary believes in helping in our local community. Each spring we award scholarship to graduating seniors at Lamar, Martin & Venture High School in Arlington, we personally hand out more than 1,000 dictionaries to the third graders at the 10 Arlington Elementary Schools in AISD and also make donations to their library funds for new books each school year. We deliver Meals on Wheels each Thursday to shut-ins in East Arlington, we are committed to giving our blood, sweat and tears (literally) at regular blood drives; we provide camper-ship funds to two local Boyscout troops to allow our youth to experience the fun of camping, we provide teacher appreciation events at Jones Academy, Wimbish World Language Academcy, McNutt Elementary School, Nichols Junior High, Shackelford Junior High and Lamar High School, we also assist for clothing items for the Lamar HS, Nichols Junior High & Shackelford Junior High FIT program, and provide Thanksgiving meals for needy students at AISD schools .
Arlington North West Rotary sponsors youth leadership skill building through our: 4-Way Test Speech Contest at Lamar High; and sponsorship of pending short-term AND long-term applicants for Youth Exchange.
In the past, we've completed a local and international Rotary grant to fund the construction of a lagoon for fish breeding, where the people of the mountain community of Los Higos, Jacagua, Santiago, Dominican Republic can obtain food for 100 families, which is a joint project with the Rotary Club of Los Higos, Santiago Gurabito, Helped send 2 Refurbished Ambulances to a poor community in Mexico for the Red Cross to use, sent wheelchairs to the infirmed in parts of Mexico Costa Rico and the Dominican Republic, and donated over $6000 to our local community charities to help with COVID-19 relief.
Our members contribute to The Rotary Foundation and our members have donated over $200,000 since the club inception.
But, Arlington North West Rotary is more than just service! We have family and fellowship events each Fifth Tuesday of a month so we can socialize and get to know our members and families better.
How does Arlington North West Rotary do all this? We are always looking for high-quality new members to help us serve the community. .While we're always sad to see some old favorites go, it's nonetheless refreshing to be re-invigorated with the ideas and enthusiasm of our new members.
How else? Arlington North West Rotary is able to raise money through our American flag program, in which our members put out approximately 1600 flags six times a year in subscribers yards in the North Arlington Area, and we host a Golf Tournament each Fall to help fund scholarships for graduating Seniors at Martin High School.
So, start your Tuesday lunch time off right and visit us to see what makes us The Friendliest Club in Town. Perhaps you'll be the co-winner of our Ace of Spades raffle, which helps funds donations to The Wheelchair Foundation.
I invite you to take a look around our site and find out more about our Club and about Rotary.
Yours in Rotary,
