Tim O'Hare, the current Tarrant County Judge and former Mayor of Farmers Branch, Texas, advocates that local government is the most impactful level of government on a citizen's day-to-day life.

Throughout his tenure, O'Hare has emphasized that decisions made by county officials regarding property taxes, law enforcement, and local regulations have a more immediate effect on people's finances and safety than those made in Washington, D.C.

Families to Freedom is a Texas-based nonprofit providing free, confidential transportation for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking—helping individuals and families move from danger to safety and begin again. Since 2015, we’ve worked alongside shelters, hospitals, advocates, churches, and law enforcement to bridge one of the most overlooked gaps in survivor support: transportation.

Whether helping someone reach emergency shelter, supportive family, a hospital, or long-term relocation, we often serve as the “final mile” to safety for survivors and their children.

To date, Families to Freedom has provided more than 1.7 million miles to safety across Texas and beyond.

In 2025 alone, our team helped transport thousands of survivors, children, and even pets to safe destinations while continuing to expand partnerships across North Texas, East Texas, Houston, and surrounding regions. 

We look forward to sharing more about the mission, the realities survivors face, and how transportation can often become the deciding factor between danger and safety.

Imagine. Risking illness and death every day because your drinking water comes from untreated surface water, wells, or rainwater. For tens of thousands of schoolchildren and families in Laos who lack access to safe drinking water, this isn’t something they imagine. It’s something they live with every day. 
At TerraClear Foundation, we’re changing that reality—and doing it in a way that’s innovative, sustainable, and affordable. 
A U.S.-based nonprofit (EIN: 85-3275435), TerraClear Foundation has brought clean, safe drinking water to tens of thousands of schoolchildren and families in Laos. Together with our partners, we’ve provided subsidized ceramic filters and community training that help to reduce illness, improve education, and break the cycle of poverty—all while caring for the environment. 

Southwest Transplant Alliance is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to fulfilling the gifts of organ and tissue donation. They provide hope to the families grieving a tremendous loss and to the individuals awaiting a life saving transplant.

What if the answer to keeping children safe wasn't always foster care—but community?

Every day across Dallas-Fort Worth, families face overwhelming challenges: a medical crisis, job loss, housing instability, lack of support, mental health struggles, or simply no one to call when life becomes too much.

At Safe Families for Children DFW, we believe families should not have to walk through crisis alone.

Through a network of trained volunteers, churches, community partners, and caring individuals, we provide practical support, mentoring, temporary hosting, and relational care that helps keep children safe, families together, and communities stronger.

Last year alone, Safe Families DFW helped dozens of families and protected over one hundred children through compassionate, community-based support designed to prevent family separation and reduce the need for foster care involvement.

This is more than a child welfare solution.

It is a community solution.

It is neighbors helping neighbors.
It is prevention before intervention.
It is hope before crisis becomes tragedy.
